• You’re invited to the Empire Avenue Communiteam Meetup

    The entire Empire Avenue team will be in Edmonton simultaneously for the first time ever, and we thought it would be a great opportunity to get together with our other team — YOU! Thus the first official Communiteam Meetup was born!

    We’re thrilled to invite you to Hudsons Canadian Taphouse Downtown (map) on Monday, June 28th, 2010 after 6:30pm for all sorts of fun. Specials include $5 mini-burgers and $3 highballs — of course, you must be of legal drinking age to attend. They do have all sorts of other good food if burgers aren’t your thing.

    Here’s what’s on the plate (har har!)
    - Meet the entire Empire Avenue team
    - Mingle with other Empire Avenue users
    - Find out about some or our future goals
    - Win some fantastic door prizes, whether you’re at the event or online! We’ll have more news on door prizes before the event, and are still looking for local and international companies to provide a few! Contact us if you want to offer something up!
    - Eat some food next to the aforementioned people!

    Some notes:
    - No “fight wear” dress code – so no Ed Hardy, Affliction, etc. We know you Empire Avenue folks are big fighters!
    - It should be busy. We have a room booked in “the back” but it will start getting busy at night. Yes, that means we may have a lot of fun, but be sure to show up early if you’re into talking to others without shouting!
    - Tell your Empire Avenue friends!

    Tom has been promoting video games and tech since the age of 19, though he is now much, much older (and has more grey hair). He's in charge of PR and marketing for Empire Avenue, and also helps with game design and other random stuff. Tom is also Director at Evolve PR, an agency dedicated to promoting video games.

      You didn’t actually mention the date of the event in the post, though! I’m sure it’s on the Facebook event, but I’m at work so I can’t check it.

      Sorry can make it, and you know why? I am from Denmark ergo it would be a pretty long flight just to show up to a meetup ;-) – Hmm don’t Empire Avenue remember that they are a international site ?? ;)

      I wish I lived in Edmonton or nearby, but I live in Costa Rica. :-( Maybe we should think of a way we can live stream the gathering (or at least the PG portion of it ;-D). I did a little researched and I found this web service that allows for FREE live streaming.

      We definitely plan to broadcast the event online :) We just need to get everything set up — will probably use ustream. I had a note about that on the Facebook page, but seem to have deleted it from this one… will add it back in!
